And I thought it was just stomach ache


I'll start by saying that I'm not objective about this. I always liked the Alien series. Well ,everyone does. In the eternal struggle between followers of Alien and Aliens about which one is the best of the series, I'll go for the first one, but I like them all. If anyone asked me after the first movie, I'd say, don't make a sequel, because it can't be as good, but it was. If they asked me after the second one, I'd say not to make another sequel, because you can't get that lucky twice - and they didn't, but the ending was worth it all. And if someone asked me after Alien3, I'd say No Way, don't make another one, you'll just ruin it all, please don't, I beg you, why are you doing it!? But nobody listened to me and they did Alien Resurrection it anyway.

and it's good that they did! i mean didn't! i mean that's good that they did the movie and good that they didn't listen to you. to sit 2 hours in the dark theater, watch ripley fight that alien. and smile this know-all smile of her.

Okay - so it's not something you should compared to the first two Alien movies, but still, it was worth it. In spite of the fact that you already know exactly what the aliens look like. And that it's all pretty predictable. And that this alien-stalking is getting repetitive. Remind me again what I liked about this movie?

the fact that with all of this it had very good fx. that, as i said already, it's always good to look at ripley. that winonna, that plays a sweet robot, do it very good indeed. that there is enough people that die a very painful death. that most of the bad guys understand what they did before they die. that the good people are good till the end of their lives. it's just that this story had all the right things to make a best or worst movie and the people that made it was talented enough to do it good.

Right. That's what it was. And when you stick it all to the Alien story and add a few really good jokes (Jokes! in an Alien movie! I'd shout blasphemy, if it wasn't so funny), it turns out that resurrecting Ripley was a smart move, after all.

you think that there is going to be a 5th?

"5th Alien"? Seems awfully like Fifth Element. Well please, no. You got lucky three times; why push your luck? Don't make a fifth one. Please. They're not going to listen to me anyway.

maybe they will if i ask nicely enough? ppppplease, pretty please. don't make another one!

That would make a nice twist to it all. "Alien stalks the elderly home". Be afraid. Be very afraid.
